Dress for Ballater Games Parade:

Gentlemen; Farquharson kilt, belt, day jacket; shirt and long tie, long hose with flashes, sgian dubh, black polished shoes, Balmoral or Glengarry. It is suggested that dirks (long daggers), plaids (tartan blankets) and other accoutrements would not be appropriate.

 Buses: There is an hourly bus service along the A93 from Aberdeen to Ballater which passes through Aboyne. The journey is one hour forty. Ballater to Braemar runs at least every two hours and takes 27 minutes. Timetables can be found at www.stagecoachbus.com/timetables/royaldeesideweb.pdf   

Weather: This will be of particular interest to overseas visitors. This is the UK and in Scotland you can experience almost all climates in a couple of days. So be prepared for very hot, fairly cold, very wet, very windy and possibly, just very nice!
