Farquharson – just how do you pronounce it?

Anyone with the magnificent name of Farquharson will have been amused, frustrated and sometimes bewildered at the various pronunciations and mis-spellings of our name.

A lot of the confusion stems from the simple fact that Farquharson does not sound how it is spelt and there lies the problem.

The easiest way to pronounce it correctly is to use the simple form of Farkerson or if the ‘Q’ must be heard, then Farkwerson. The later will probably help when giving the name via a telephone or when trying to retrieve a booking across a hotel or theatre counter. The Q tends to help the computer locate the wonderful name.
